South Dakota - Day 4 The Black Hills

Well, the first several nights were bitterly cold (in the low 30's) and it prompted is to sleep with hot packs, and go buy a propane heater.

Morning faces of chilly boys

Our super sweet campsite!
We had reserved a site at a completely different campground. However, after arriving we discovered that all of the sites were, although beautiful, on cliffs or butting up to a lake. No thanks! We relocated to this park in Custer and we were quite happy. The first couple nights we were all alone. Literally. This particular campground had no staff. You used a designated phone to make your reservation and once a day someone would drive through. Otherwise, we were on our own.

Driving the mountains

We caught a glimpse of Rushmore!
