Oliver's first library card
Oliver is nearing his 5th birthday so we headed off to the library to get his very own card. We made a big deal out of it and the librarian who took care of us fell in step, making the whole experience very memorable.
Oliver had to complete two things to be able to get his own card.
1. He had to be able to write his first and last name (check)
2. He had to be able to write it in the tiny box on the back of the card. (That took some practice but he eventually nailed it).
His first books checked out included the Caldecott and Newbery winners for 2012 (ok, maybe I had a little to do with the selection:)).
After losing several items over the years, we now have a dedicated bookshelf and its been a lifesaver.

Betty Brinn - Insect Zoo
We did two things right last year. We got a membership to Discovery World and Betty Brinn Children's Museum in downtown Milwaukee. We've already gone dozens of times and we plan to go dozens more. Kids this age don't get "tired" of stuff!
The bug zoo frequents the children's museum a few times a month. Though small (no pun intended) the boys thoroughly enjoyed it and are still talking about it.

Bath time
I don't know why, but I'm not a fan of baths. Never have been. A shower is bliss to me, but baths... eh not so much. I think because of that I pretty much only give our kids showers. About once a week they'll have a bath in the whirlpool tub, so it's caused our normal bathtub to be a "special treat".
They shriek with excitement when I ask them if they want to take a bath upstairs. Kind of the same way they shriek when I let them have a glass of milk. Weird, I know:)
