A day of pickin'!

Instead of doing our usual pick apples in September and pumpkins in October, we opted for a one day pickin' extravaganza.
The farm we found is decidedly our new family tradition.
They're adorable, quaint and totally anti commercial (Eh hem Apple Holler!).
Bonus! You can pick Honeycrisp for the same price as the run-of-the-mill apples.

Oliver and his cwazy face:)

Weston the scarecrow!

Best idea ever! Babies in backpacks make for easy apple picking.

The best part about picking apples: taste testing.

Leif had gotten tired of watching everyone else grabbing for apples so he just helped himself:)

As did Laiken

I think I look just like my Aunt Kathleen in this picture. Crazy!

Time for pumpkin pickin'!

Weston spent half the time picking up rocks and chucking them into rotten pumpkins, hoping for a big sploosh.

These pumpkins were actually attached to their vines!!! Unlike Elegant Farmer who just just chucks their pumpkins in a clean field for yuppie customers. Sorry. I'm a little bitter.

The rule: you can get any pumpkin you can carry.
Not surprising that Finn pushed it to the limit.

He cheated and ended up putting it in his backpack. Turd!

A perfect Weston pumpkin!
I somehow missed Oliver and the twin's pumpkins:(

We had to get cider-ish donuts for this fall experience. Holey Moley donuts to the rescue!

That does look fantastic! I love the pictures of the twins reaching for the apples, and I think Finley's solution is clever. Smart boy!
