Our tree went through a sort of metomorphosis after we finished decorating it. We started with four strands of lights and breakable ornaments on the top with kid-friendly ornaments on the bottom. However, the twins quickly proved that kid friendly meant fair game.
After some rearranging, we had a half naked tree, but everyone still had fun decorating.
The twins were far too interested in the lights.
Oliver was in charge of the special and delicate ornaments.
I think Finley looked forward to decorating more than any of the boys. Ever methodical, serious, he gave special care and thought to the placement of every piece.
All five monkeys together for a moment:)
Finley's handprint last year
Oliver's hand last year.
Finished. Melby style.

Our experience was similar. The tree looked beautiful for a couple minutes. And then Zoey had to rearrange everything we'd worked on. It was a hot mess shortly after completion. Maybe next year we can both have pretty trees without the babies getting into everything!
