Maria And The Portal

Oliver, and two of his good friends, Hattie and Anna, took an acting 101 class this spring.
The highlight of their class was to put on a play that they'd helped write.
It was titled: Maria And The Portal

The cast

Oliver played the mime and hero of the story. He had an absolute blast, and looked forward to every class.

Mark and I watched him with amazement these past few weeks. I realize that this was an elementary play. However, Oliver treated like he was on Broadway. Memorizing scenes, stage direction, practicing (sometimes twice a day) and reading his script over and over.
Way to go dude!

They all did a wonderful job!
In attendance to show support for this little man: mommy, daddy, Finn, Weston, L&L, Grandma Becky, Bompa, Aunt Mae, Grandma Kelly, Grandpa Quinn, Patrick, Brandi, and Brooke.
That's one well loved boy!

Camping with Bompa and Grandma Becky

This lucky little man got to go camping, overnight, with his Grandparents, Great Aunt & Uncle, and their dog Sookie (the highlight of his weekend!)
The other highlight:
Getting to make breakfast for everyone in this adorable pan (that Grandma gave him to take home). Oliver shares her fondness for all things tiny.

Caring for a baby Robin

My friend and her boys rescued this little bird from being attacked by other birds. After caring for it for a couple days, they asked if we'd like to give it a world. We jumped at the awesome life lessons and homeschool opportunity.
We went out in the pouring rain and dug up worms, threw them in the blender and fed the little guy with a syringe.
We researched like crazy and looked up Robin calls and chirps. It was a really cool experience! Unfortunately, the poor dear didn't last the day.
Maybe it's better that way since proper care for a bird his age would have been feedings every 30-40 mins.:(.
