Celbrating Bryana's 19th Birthday

Paint pain and more paint!

Even though Mark was sick all last week and most of the weekend, we were still able to get some painting done. Bryana and Pat came up Saturday to help us and we got the kitchen done and most of the living room. I don't know who's idea it was to do all those fancy arches and headers and such. They're a royal pain to paint around.

We tried to go with bold but earthy colors throughout the whole house. Our one toss up room is the guest room/office which will be RED (per Mark's request).

DRYWALL DOES WONDERS FOR MORALE

The drywaller's officially finished on Thur of last week and this is the result.

Our closet. To the right of the closet is going our new dresser that will be built in.

Our secret door. Ok, it's really just the door to the attic.

This week we're painting and putting in Kitchen cabinets. This weekend we'll be installing our flooring and getting our appliances delivered. All the sudden everything is really starting to come along. Finally!

Oliver loves his Nanna

This is his new look. I love it!

Bubbles, bubbles everywhere!

Day by day we're slowly creeping towards summer. Last week Oliver and I took a timeout to blow some bubbles.

"ahky! we don't eat bubbles"
And yes. That is a nasty 80's perm.
This was right after one popped in his mouth.

Family Portraits

For Mother's Day we siblings decided to do a secret photo shoot for mom.

Who can you trust if you can't trust family

A few weeks ago I got the idea to hire a contractor to install our insulation. I found a relatively inexpensive contractor and who was available when I needed him and the caper began.
I then enlisted friends and family to start lying to Mark. I decided that I would start planning a fake insulation party where us and about 12 volunteers would work tirelessly all weekend to get the insulation installed.  It was an exhausting thought but it had to be done. Or did it?
In short I ended up telling him on Thursday night that the insulation guys were coming the next morning and we wouldn't have to think about it. His first question was "what are we going to do with everyone coming Saturday?" Ahh, the beauty of innocence.
We arrived Saturday morning to a beautifully insulated house that was considerably more quiet and warmer.
Thanks wholesale insulators!
What a large amount of stress removed.
Our drywall contractor starts on Tuesday and by the weekend of the 16th we will have a drywalled, and painted house. Amazing!
Thanks to everyone for all your prayers. We're not done yet, but at least now we can see the light.
PS
Also thanks to Bill, Becky, Amanda, Steve, Adrianne, Aaron, Natalie, A. Kathleen, U Mark, Lisa, Ivan, Mom and Dad for lying to Mark with me:)
